Wayne's Water Department conducts it's annual systematic flushing of Hydrants each spring, starting every April, continuing for approximately 6 weeks.

Flushing of Water Mains will take place between the hours of 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM, Sunday night to Friday morning. The Water Department asks the cooperation of all residents in using a minimal amount of water during these hours.

Temporary discoloration of the water may result from flushing, therefore, water should be allowed to run long enough so as to allow any sediment in the lines in your home, including laundry areas, to clear.

Should discoloration continue for more than three hours, please call the Water Department office at 973-694-5090 between 7:00AM and 3:30 PM.
