Moving violations are the leading cause of motor vehicle collisions.  The overall number of collisions investigated by the department increases yearly.  The Traffic Bureau continued to make good use of the Speed Display Trailer.  This device displays the speed limit of the roadway and the speed of the motorist when approaching the specially equipped trailer. The Traffic Bureau has obtained the most recent technology in speed enforcement, the LTI 20/20 Laser, a hand-held speed detection device capable of tracking a vehicle and its speed at distances close to one (1) mile. This device will also allow the officers to increase their productivity, determine speeds at a much greater distance and pinpoint  (isolate) violators in heavy traffic. It can also be used to take precise measurements for diagramming of serious and/or fatal collision scenes.

Any questions or comments regarding this Bureau can be emailed  towards Lieutenant Dring who will try to satisfy all of your concerns.
