SPRING 2010 <top of page>

TENNIS COURTS - Rules - Application - Lessons
Badges Required.  Registration is held in the Parks and Recreation office Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 4:15PM March thru September.  Courts are lighted late April thru September until 10:00PM.

TENNIS LESSONS - Adult - Children
Registration for lessons begins early march.  Lessons held early May thru November.  There are six (6) one hour lessons per session.  A current tennis badge is required to participate in all lessons.

ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT
Held at Wayne Valley High School athletic fields on Saturday, March 20, 2010.  Begins at 10:30AM.  No prior registration required.  Toddlers thru 7 years of age.
(Wayne Residents ONLY)  Rain Date - April 4th.

MEN'S SOFTBALL LEAGUE
Registration is by teams in the Recreation office.  Individuals also welcome.  Play begins early April and runs thru July.  Games are Monday - Friday evenings.  Must be a Wayne resident to join.  Team openings available.

MEN'S 40+ SOFTBALL LEAGUE
Registration is by teams in the Recreation office.  Individuals also welcome.  Play begins late April thru July.  Games are Monday - Friday evenings.  Must be 40 years of age and a Wayne Resident or Wayne business to join.  Team openings available.

GIRLS SOFTBALL - Flyer
Grades 5-9
All girls must be Wayne residents.
Fee - $40 Per Player

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
Monday, May 31, 2010
The parade begins at 11:00AM and marches down Valley Road to the municipal building.

TRACK & FIELD - Flyer
The Wayne Striders Track & Field Team participates in the NJ Striders Track League.  Practice is twice a week in the early evening.  Track Meets are on Sundays.  Registration begins in February.  Season runs April through mid June.  For Boys and Girls ages 7 to 14.

PREAKNESS POOL - KILROY PARK - NORTH COVE
Registration begins in April.  Both facilities open Saturday, May 29, 2010 - Monday, September 6, 2010.  Half hour swim lessons begin at 10:00AM at all facilities beginning in late June.  Swim Team practice starts in June at North Cove.  Mets are held at home and away.  Ages 6 - 17 welcome.

SHUFFLEBOARD
Open play for senior citizens at Kilroy Park for June - September.

GIRLS TRAVELING SOFTBALL - Flyer
Tryouts will be held in the Spring.  Program is for Wayne girls 8 - 16 years of age.  Teams are broken into four age groups.
Fee - To be announced

VCSBL BASEBALL
Tryouts will be held in early May for two teams.  Program is for Wayne boys 17 - 18 years of age.  No prior registration required.
Fee - $75.00

JUNIOR OLYMPICS
Held at Wayne Valley High School on Saturday, June 12, 2010, beginning at 9:00AM.  No fee, however, pre-registration is required.  Grades 2 thru 7.

WAYNE DAY CELEBRATION
Sunday, June 6, 2010
Games, bands, food, crafts, kiddie rides, entertainment and much more.  A fun day for the whole family.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
Registration begins in August in the Recreation Office by teams only.  The leagues play Wednesday and Thursday evenings starting in late September through April.  Teams frequently have openings for new players.

This 60 minute program incorporates footwork and body movements from flamenco, salsa and other dances.  You will pump your legs, windmill arms, gyrate your hips, clap your hands, dip, slid and spin - all to frenzied beat that leaves you with flushed cheeks and dripping sweat.

GOLDEN AGE CIRCLE
