George Washington Colfax Barn

SAVE THE COLFAX BARN FUNDRAISING

Fundraising is the lifeblood of rescuing the George Washington Colfax Barn. We made a tentative start with a few contributions when we heard of the opportunity to takedown and raise the barn at a township owned site. Serious fundraising did not begin until after the Wayne Township Council voted a resolution of approval in late July and the property was actually transferred to Preakness Chevrolet on July 30, 2002.

These are the fundraising activities to date, our current financial situation, and our planned activities. All funds are managed by the Wayne Community Foundation (a not-for-profit corporation) in the Save The Barn account. The loan must be repaid. All funds raised in excess of loan expense will be applied to the barn raising costs.
