Fire Inspection Bureau

History

The Wayne Township Fire Inspection Bureau has been serving the community since the early 1970’s. Prior to the passage of the Uniform Fire Safety Act of 1983, the Fire Inspection Bureau was a branch of the Wayne Township Building Department. With the passage of the Uniform Fire Safety Act of 1983, the Fire Inspection Bureau expanded and became its own self-supporting agency in 1985.

The Wayne Township Fire Inspection Bureau is the lead agency within the township for compliance to both the Uniform Fire Code and Uniform Construction Code (fire subcode section).
