2012 SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROGRAM

Wayne Township’s Sidewalk Replacement Program is well underway. The Township will replace sidewalk slabs damaged or raised by Township shade trees. The Township will also be replacing temporary asphalt sidewalk at locations damaged during last year’s storms. All slabs to be replaced will be marked with a single pink dot as each street is reached. All other defective slabs are the responsibility of the adjacent property owner. The Township’s contractor is A. Takton Concrete Corp. You may contact them at (732) 238-1008 if you are interested in engaging them to replace defective sidewalk slabs that are your responsibility. Any such arrangements are strictly between the property owner and the contractor and Wayne Township will in no way be involved in any aspect thereof. Please note, the contractor has been overwhelmed with requests for private sidewalk work. He is definitely interested in all requests and will address them as he gets to the respective street.

The Contractor’s actions may inadvertently damage private facilities such as lawn sprinklers or silent dog fences. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to repair such facilities within five days of reporting. If you experience any damage, please contact the Assistant Township Engineer below, even if you have discussed this with the Contractor and/or the Township’s Inspector.
