2011 SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROGRAM

Wayne Township’s Sidewalk Replacement Program is well underway. The contractor is finishing up in Ward 1 and will begin work in Ward 3 the week of July 11. A list of the selected streets within Ward 3, and the remaining streets in the project (Ward 2 and the County roads), follows. The Township will replace sidewalk slabs damaged or raised by Township shade trees. These slabs will be marked with a single pink dot as each street is reached. All other defective slabs are the responsibility of the adjacent property owner. The Contractor is responsible for landscape restoration. This includes topsoil and grass seed placement. Landscape restoration typically takes place in the Friday following completion of the slab replacement on a given street, but occasionally weather conditions or other factors may delay this until the next week.

The Township’s contractor is Midwest Construction, Inc. You may contact them at (973) 412-8880 if you are interested in engaging them to replace defective sidewalk slabs that are your responsibility. Any such arrangements are strictly between the property owner and the contractor and Wayne Township will in no way be involved in any aspect thereof. Please note that we are aware of issues regarding this phone number and the answering procedure and have alerted the contractor several times. The township can not provide any additional contact information.

Note, the contractor is responsible for repairing any damage to private property, including sprinkler systems and driveways.
